Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate - Glendale Water & Power

Up to $6,000 per charging station ($50,000 max per location) for commercial or multi-family customers. An additional $8 per month for charging vehicles during Off-Peak Hours.

Summary:

Glendale Water and Power is offering rebates for residential and commercial customers planning to install an EV charging station. In addition to the installation rebate, the city is also providing an $8 monthly incentive to encourage EV drivers to charge their vehicles between the Off-Peak Hours of 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. and anytime on the weekends.

Qualifying Projects:

· Commercial/Multi-Family networked EV Charger - $3,000 rebate

· Commercial/Multi-Family non-networked EV charger - $1,500 rebate

+Additional $3,000 if:

· Installed charging station(s) are publicly accessible during regular business hours.

· Installed charging station(s) are DC Fast Chargers with a minimum of 2 charging ports.

· Installed charging station(s) are accessible to students and patrons of schools recognized by the Los Angeles County Department of Education or the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

· Charging stations have been installed in a disadvantaged community (DAC) as defined by the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) at https://calepa.ca.gov/envjustice/ghginvest/

· Charging stations have been installed at income-qualified housing structures serving 80% or more income-qualified customers as defined by the State of California Health and Safety Code Section 50105.

Requirements:

· Applicant must be a GWP customer with an active GWP account.

· The rebate amount is for new equipment, installation, and/or permit fees only and cannot exceed the lesser of the these fees or $3,000 for commercial/multi-family networked chargers, $1,500 for commercial/multi-family non-networked chargers, $599 for residential networked or Wi-Fi chargers, and $200 for residential non-networked chargers

· The rebate is for a Level II (240V) EV charger and must utilize the SAE J1772 charging plug or Tesla’s High-Power Wall Connector and be UL or equivalent listed. Chargers with greater capacity will be considered on a case-by-case-basis.

· If chargers are hardwired, a final City of Glendale Building & Safety Division permit must be provided.
