First-come, first-serve program. MAX award possible of $300,000. Only $130,000 left in the fund. Funding may vary based on need and merit. Project funding may cover between 50%** to 100% of the cost with an additional +10% on qualifying low-income project types.

Summary:

San Louis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District’s (APCD) Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Grant Program provides funding to individuals, businesses and public agencies to help pay for projects that reduce emissions from heavy-duty engines. The program is administered and funded by the APCD with additional funds from approved monies by APCD Board, such as the Carl Moyer Program, AB923, FARMER, mitigations funds and other Board approved sources.

Project Categories eligible for consideration:

· Infrastructure for Alternative Fueling stations, Electric Vehicle Charging and Electrification of Agriculture Engines

· Marine Engine Repower

· Off-Road Heavy Duty Equipment Replacement

· Off-Road Heavy Duty Repower or Retrofitting

· Stationary and Portable Agriculture Engines

Requirements:

The emissions reductions from the project must be real, qualifiable, enforceable, and permanent without the need to be required by local, state, or federal rule, regulation, or legal binds. The signing entities cannot began work and accrue cost until the signing of the agreement is complete between them and the APCD. Old equipment must have been in operation before the agreement and must be disposed of in accordance with the agreement. At least 75% of the operations of the old and new equipment must be in the state of California. No emission reductions generated by the SLO County Carl Moyer Incentive Program can be used for marketable emission reduction credits or used to offset the emissions of any person or entity, nor used for credit under any federal or state emission averaging baking and trading program. All replacement engines must be certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Infrastructure programs may be subjugated to a competitive bidding process with accordance to Chapter 10 of the Moyer Guidelines if required.
