Summary:

The Clean Energy Fund is for the continued transformation of the electric transportation market in Washington State. The Electrification of Transportation Systems Program (ETS) provides grants to Washington local governments, Tribal Governments, and retail electric utilities for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. ETS grants provide funding for agencies to integrate and manage the electrical load from electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). Funding also covers innovative projects that prepare communities to construct and/or expand EVSE through early-stage consultant studies, engineer designs, or direct capital asset investments and infrastructure upgrades.

Qualified Projects:

· Integrate and manage load using behavioral, software, hardware, or other demand-side management technologies for on-road end-uses and non-maritime off-road end-uses;

· Provide enduring benefits to vulnerable communities disproportionately burdened by air pollution, climate change impacts, or lack of transportation systems.

· Battery EV supply equipment.

· On-site generation or storage, where the technology directly supplies electricity to the EVSE.

· Electric grid distribution system infrastructure upgrades, where the upgrade is needed as a result of installed EVSE.

· Other demand response, time-of-use rates, or behavioral programming strategies and related assets/infrastructure.

Requirements:

Only state agencies, local governments, federally recognized tribal communities, and small utilities (in accordance to RCW 19.29A.010) care able to apply.
